TRAINING WORKSHOP IN TBILISI

Aiming the promotion and dissemination of the Black Sea problems, following the EU MSFD principles  and  realizing the Black Sea Synergy conceptual approach, for the purpose of implementation of the planned activities after suspension period (COVID-19) Iv.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Pr.3), in  the frames of  EU Black Sea Synergy Initiative, on 18.06.2021, under the auspice of EU “Joint Operational Cross-Border Cooperation Programme BSB 2014 – 2020” and  “Horizone 2020” programmes organized the joint Training Workshop of the projects  “ RedMarLitter – BSB552” and “„Black Sea Connect“  dedicated to  the launch of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science.

The goal of the workshop was to increase environmental awareness, further dissemination of the results and knowledge of the projects through young generation of all ages and gender and to ensure the close collaboration between the ongoing EU projects. The  workshop was combined, in situ and virtual ( ZOOM platform).

The workshop was organized with strong participation of  TSU Junior University (the educational project “TSU – Children’s University”) and support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of TSU Assoc. Professor, Dr. Vazha Trapaidze. Ms. Tea Tarielashvili, National GSO Member from Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia took a part in the meeting.

The new Methodology and Guideline ( within GA T3 of “RedMarLitter 552”) was introduced to the participants by TSU Team members and external experts with corresponding presentation aiming to initiate an interactive discussion. All parts of the Methodology and Guidelines were presented in details with particular emphasis on the practical use of the marinne litter photoguide, with active involvement of audience.

The video film, created within the project and dedicated to the project activities, was, also, introduced to the participants.

The meeting was attended by the schoolchildren from different parts of the country, students, Mc and PhD students of TSU, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Ilia State University, representatives of EcoClub from City of Poti, National Environmental Agency and SME ( about 50 participants).

After discussion the Training workshop was closed.
